Join the MBDA at the InVision Tour

The Minority Business Development Agency is beginning a five-city tour in Atlanta, Georgia next month. The tour aims to educate minority innovators, industrialists, inventors and entrepreneurs about the many resources available in over 300 federal laboratories across the United States. The focus will be on building wealth and creating jobs through the use of science, manufacturing and technology.

The debut InVision event will be held at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center on Thursday Dec. 6, and Friday Dec. 7, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include knowledge sharing, access to new ideas and networking opportunities, including:

  • Over 10 peer-selected presentations by experts in technology transfer
  • Demonstrations by over 10 local labs
  • The opportunity to meet and share ideas with over 200 professionals and entrepreneurs

What is InVision?

InVision is a national effort spearheaded by the MBDA to increase participation of MWBEs in technology transfer (T2) — the process by which innovations developed using federal R&D funds are used to meet public and private sector needs. By connecting minority and women innovators and industrialists to federally funded research facilities, the agency hopes to promote broader implementation of T2 in the MWBE community.

Assistance is available in a number of areas, including:

  • Human capital
  • Facility space
  • R&D labs
  • Patent attorneys
  • And more.
